Bible Verse:
Psalms 119:2
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and
that seek him with the whole heart.
Surrender
After weeks of twisting and turning, periods of
discontentment, heated “discussions”
with the Lord, and formulation of Plan B, I have
finally decided to listen, wave the white flag,
and surrender.
When
we find ourselves in situations not to our liking,
it is human nature to want to change them. It takes
practiced faith and trust in God not to move before
He says move. Yet, often after we’ve customarily
asked Him for guidance, we covertly take up the
cause once again, trying to fashion our lives the
way we want them to be. We tell God we’re
leaving the situation in His hands, but in the background
we’ve got our own plan of action mapped out
and ready to execute.
The
funny thing was that I thought I had given Him everything.
I had convinced myself the troubled feelings were
just because it was unfamiliar territory. I didn’t
really think there were elements that I was still
holding on to. Eventually I realized that my uneasiness
came because the Spirit was telling me that I was
getting in the way of what God wanted to do for
me.
Letting
go and letting God is unfamiliar territory. Believe
me, it’s hard. However, it gets easier as
we trust Him with more and more of our lives. When
God tells us to commit our way unto Him and not
lean on our own understanding, He means what He
says. Only as we completely surrender every aspect
and nuance of our life will we truly be blessed
and at peace.
Trust
Him today. Surrender your all to Him. He has begun
a marvellous work in you which He will complete.
